This SimpleEdit is a replacement for Apple's SimpleText.  SimpleEdit provides more editing features than SimpleText, including handling > 32K of text, rectangular editing, overstrike editing, convenient key bindings, multiple undo/redo, and more -- but still hangs-on to the "Simple" part of it's title.  Some of it's features are:

  5. • Multiple styles (including strikethru, underline and inverse).
  6. • Multiple undo and redo of all editing operations
  7. • Line wrapping
  8. • Rectangular Editing
  9. • Overstrike Editing
  10. • Unlimited text size
  11. • Text can contain annotations (graphics, sounds, movies, etc).
  12. • Drag and Drop support
  13. • Applescript support - both scriptable and recordable
  14. • Show invisibles & ascii
  15. • Hidden Text
  16. • Convenient editing commands built-in (Shift Left/Right, Delete Line, Transpose, etc)

  18. The SimpleEdit application was built with the Evatac Application Framework.

  20. NOTE!:  The SimpleEdit demonstration application is a pre-release version. There are a few bugs and limitations present in the application. Please check our ftp site to download the most stable and complete version of the SimpleEdit Application.
